Crate Music
AI Usage Policy
Your music will not be used to train anything. Here is exactly what that means.
Last updated 7 August 2026
The commitment
Your audio, your metadata, your comments and your splits are never used to train any artificial-intelligence model — not ours, and not a third party’s.
We do not sell, license or otherwise supply your content to anyone building or training a model.
This is not a setting you have to find and switch off. It is the default, and there is no version of this product where it is not.
What is true today
Two features use an AI model, and both are listed here. Neither one sends your audio, and neither one can read your catalog.
The help assistant. When you ask it a question, your question and the rest of that conversation are sent to our AI provider to produce an answer. It has no access to your library, your tracks, your files or your metadata, and it cannot change anything in your account.
Filename suggestions. When you upload a file, you can ask us to read its NAME and propose a title, artist, version, tempo or key from it. Only the file name is sent — never the audio, and never anything else from your catalog. The result is a suggestion you confirm; nothing is saved until you accept it.
Your audio is never sent to any AI provider. Your track metadata, comments and splits are never sent to any AI provider. If that changes, this section changes first.
When we do use AI
The two features above, and any we add later, process only what is necessary to answer the request in front of them.
Planned features — an assistant that can actually organise your catalog, and automatic detection of tempo and musical key — will be described here before they process anything of yours.
Any AI provider we use is under a contract that prohibits training on your inputs.
Content processed this way is used to produce your result and is not retained for model improvement.
The one exception, and it is yours to make
If you export your own files and choose to give them to an AI tool yourself, that is your decision and outside our control. This policy governs what we do with your data inside Crate Music. It cannot govern what you do with a copy you have taken out of it.
If you ask an assistant inside Crate Music to perform a task on your catalog, it acts on your instruction, for you, and still does not train on your content.
